At Consett Infant School, we strongly encourage all pupils to wear school uniform. We believe that wearing a school uniform helps promote a strong sense of identity within school and the community which creates pride in the children and their school. It makes them feel part of our school family.
Our school has a duty to make sure that the uniform we require is affordable, in line with statutory guidance from the Department for Education on the cost of school uniform.
We do not require any part of our uniform to have our school logo (optional) and generic items in the school colours can be worn which can be purchased from local supermarkets.
We want people to recycle preloved school uniform, rather than put it in the bin. We run a uniform exchange which makes it easy for families to pass on school uniform that’s no longer needed and, instead of buying new, find items of school uniform for free!
Our School uniform consists of the following:
- red sweatshirts or sweatcardis
- black, or grey skirts, pinafores or trousers
- white polo/T-shirts
- optional red polar fleece or Ultimate Reversible Coat
- Book bag (Uniform supplier sells book bags in red with the school motif – optional)
For Summer weather:
- red check/stripe dresses or skirts
- black, or grey shorts
- white T-shirts or polo-shirts
For P.E. optional clothes are:
- Red T-Shirt
- black shorts
