Morrisons have very kindly donated a selection of plants for the children to plant in the reception garden. The children had so much fun planting the plants and wanted to say a big thank you to Morrisons!
Today was our Autumn walk to the forest. We would like to say the children were brilliant. They walked down to the forest very sensibly. They all had a fantastic time in the forest. It was a little muddy, but this did not stop the fun. The children ran up and down the hill, jumped in the mud, climbed on a tree, made a camp fire, played hide and seek and just had SO much FUN. The children all walked back up to school just as sensibly as they walked down. They maybe a little tired tonight!!!!
Thank you again for your support with the walk. Again the children were just AMAZING we are all so proud of them. See picture attached

As you may remember, the Year 1 Phonics checks were cancelled in June due to Coronavirus and being in lock down. We have been advised that all Year 2 children will now have to complete a phonics check in November. Information about the check which we gave to you last year is still relevant and is contained in the attached powerpoint.
Please see attached letter about the new rising stars reading app. Thank you

As in previous years, Durham County Council are strongly encouraging parents/carers to apply on-line for a school place for their child. They are stressing even more that parents should do this if they are able to, given the current situation with Covid 19 and changes to working practices. All the information you need to be able to do this is available from the Council’s website from 14 September 2020:
www.durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Please find attached a copy of the postcards which tells parents/carers they can access the Parent’s Guide (the Primary and Secondary School Admission Guide) and the on-line application system using the above link .
Important:
The Primary and Secondary School Admission Guide advises those parents/carers who do not apply on-line for a school place to send their paper application forms to Durham County Council. It also advises they may want to return the forms by ‘Royal Mail Signed for’ or ‘Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed’ as in the event of non-receipt, proof of delivery will be required. It is even more important given the current situation with Covid 19 and changes to working practices that proof of delivery will be required.
Thank you
